Governors Round Table

On 4 June 2022, the Islamic Development Bank (IsDB) will be organizing a Governors roundtable under the Theme “Beyond Recovery: Resilience and Sustainability”.

The aim of the Roundtable would be to discuss and seek feedback of the Governors on the approaches to achieve the objectives of IsDB Strategic Realignment 2023-2025. A key question would be to explore how to ensure and implement the re-aligned IsDB Strategy’s that is resilient and sustainable. The Event will be held at 10:30 AM to 12:30 PM in the Capital Hall, Tonino Lamborghini International Convention Center Sharm El Sheikh, Egypt.

The Governors’ Roundtable will also take stock of how the rapidly changing geo-strategic realities are impacting socio-economic circumstances in MCs. The roundtable will explore specifically how best the IsDB can address the emerging and changing concerns of the MCs. It will also provide an opportunity to solicit the Hon. Governors’ valuable inputs around four key themes (i) Building Resilience in MCs to mitigate the negative impact of twin-crisis, (ii) Supporting MCs in Building Green and Sustainable Infrastructure, (iii) Supporting Long-term Human Capital Development and (iv) Rewiring of economies for sustainable development: Leveraging COP27 as a catalyst.

The Roundtable will help in shaping the developmental narrative beyond recovery, building resilience, and supporting long-term green sustainable growth across 57 IsDB member countries.
