      Governors Dialogue

      A Governors Dialogue will be organized by Islamic Development Bank (IsDB) on the topic “Food Insecurity in IsDB Member Countries” with H.E. Amadou Hott, Minister of Economy, Planning and International Cooperation, Senegal.

      The event will be organized on Thursday, June 2, 2:00 to 3:00 PM  on margins of Annual Meeting of IsDBG and venue is the Summit Foyer area, Tonino Lamborghini International Convention Center Sharm El Sheikh,  Egypt.

      The aim of the dialogue is to discuss ongoing conflict in Eastern Europe and swear drought in Eastern Africa region which has increased food prices and restricted supply. Thus risking malnutrition in 20 million people in MCs.  Dialogue will discuss how (i) food insecurity is affecting West African regions, (ii)  how Senegal can play a role to reduce cost of food items including fertilizer and other agriculture inputs (iii) building a more market based robust supply system and (iv) encouraging role of private sector and building national and regional strategic food reserve to address food insecurity.
