The Islamic Development Bank (IsDB) will be organizing the Annual General Assembly (GA) of the Federation of Consultants from Islamic Countries (FCIC). The GAs will be held as part of the IsDB Annual Meeting which is being held in Sharm El-Sheikh, Egypt during 1-4 June 2022. The event will be held on Wednesday, 1st June 2022, at 11:30 AM to 12:30 PM in the in El Salam Hall, Tonino Lamborghini International Convention Center Sharm El Sheikh, Egypt. The 2nd Session of the GA of FCIC is planned be held on Thursday, 2nd June 2022.
IsDB has been supporting both FCIC keeping in view the important role Consultants from member countries can play in the design and implementation of development projects. Such support will boost the capacity of the consultants from private sector to compete for Bank financed projects and will lead to economic activities and job creation in member countries.
The aims of this year GAs are (i) to present the annual reports of the Federations and (ii) to discuss means to enhance cooperation amongst the federation members for their mutual benefits. This year marks the first year of implementation of the new FCIC Three Year Strategy (2022-2024). The GA will agree on activities to be undertaken during the next three years.
IsDB has supported establishment of the FCIC and provided both technically and financially support in promoting cooperation amongst the Federation members. The GA will discuss and agree on an Action Plan for implementation of the Strategy that will enable enhanced capacity of firms to provide consulting services within 57 member countries and beyond.
